on christmas eve, we went to the christmas eve service at church at 5pm & gramma, grampa, auntie ashie, aunt meg meg & carl met us there. the girls wore their adorable matching black & white christmas dresses & looked so cute. mia was like one big tulle ball though, ha since she is so tiny! mollie went in her 2yr old class during the service which I was surprised that she didn’t fussy when we dropped her off since auntie ashie was there with me dropping her off. at the end of the service they lit the candles for silent night, so before they lit them I went & got mollie out of the nursery so that she could see all the candles! there was hundreds of candles it was so pretty! after church I wanted to get a picture of the four of us in front of one of the trees there since ours was dead! :(
after pictures we let mollie play on the playground at church, it was “snowing” on the playground & the little town they have their & there was also christmas cookies!! mollie was so happy because her & two other kids were the only ones on the playground compared to the normal 50 plus kids running wild on the playground after church each sunday.
when we got home from church mollie sprinkled her & mia’s reindeer food in the grass for santa’s reindeer to eat when santa came that night to our home!
we went went inside & ate our christmas eve dinner {honey baked ham, ash made grandma bidwell’s potato salad, deviled eggs & rolls & cookies for dessert!} after dinner we opened up our gifts from our grandparents & the girls’ great grandparents we always do this on christmas eve. we watched the christmas story & mollie tried her hardest to stay up late & she fell asleep in my lap watching tv {which is very rare for her!} nick & I put out cookies & milk for santa, since mollie fell asleep & then it was time for bed! santa was on his way!!
christmas morning we were surprised to see that elfie came back since he was suppose to fly back to the north pole when santa came on christmas eve… we guess he just wanted to see all the goodies that santa brought the girls!? mia was the first one up, she got up around 7:30 or 8am & a little while later mollie woke up!

mollie opened her stocking first & we opened up mia’s stocking for her. mollie got an ariel umbrella, plaid knee high socks, santa money, m&ms &lifesaver gummies in her stocking. mia got santa money, a purse teether & a birdie that hangs on her carseat handle.

mia was just so tired from all the santa excitement so she decided to sleep…
notice the chocolate all over her face… ya she fueled up with the m&ms in her stocking. she would eat a handful of them & then open some presents & come back for another handful & back to the presents…

after we opened all the gifts, nick made brunch {eggs, bacon, hashbrown casserole & crescent rolls} & then we relaxed, napped & watched a few good movies {family stone & home for the holidays}
christmas this year was great! definitely the best gift we received this year was our sweet mia kate! nick & I loved watching mollie just get everything about christmas this year! I loved watching her just get so excited about the little things all season!! I cant wait until next year when we have a three yr old & a 1 year old at christmas time!! its all so magical with the little ones!
